Dear brides, here are a few little things we’ve noticed over the years that might be worth remembering when your wedding day finally arrives. :)
1. GET TO KNOW YOUR DRESS BEFORE THE WEDDING
Spend a little time in your dress before the big day. Walk in it, sit down, give someone a hug, try a few dance moves. Knowing how your dress feels and moves will make you much more comfortable on your wedding day – and you won’t have to figure everything out in the middle of it.
2. BRING COMFORTABLE SHOES
You may love your wedding shoes, but after a few hours your feet might feel differently. :) Keep a comfortable pair nearby so you can change whenever you need to and enjoy the rest of the day without thinking about sore feet.
3. GIVE YOURSELF A LITTLE EXTRA TIME
Wedding days rarely run exactly to the minute – and that’s completely fine. Leave a little breathing room in your schedule so that if something takes longer than expected, you don’t have to spend the next hour trying to catch up.
4. REMEMBER TO EAT AND DRINK
It sounds obvious, but on such a busy and emotional day it’s surprisingly easy to forget. Ask someone close to you to occasionally bring you some water or remind you to eat something. You’ll be very grateful for it later.
5. HOLD YOUR BOUQUET A LITTLE LOWER
Try holding your bouquet around waist level rather than close to your chest. It feels more relaxed, lets your dress be seen and usually looks much more natural in photos too.
6. DON’T RUSH THE MOMENT BEFORE “I DO”
When it’s finally time to walk down the aisle, slow down. Take a breath, look around and notice the people waiting for you. You’ve spent so much time preparing for this moment – give yourself a few seconds to really be there for it.
And remember: a happy bride isn’t the one whose wedding goes perfectly. It’s the one who can enjoy it even when it doesn’t. :)
